Functional Safety Engineer

Responsibilities:

·         Interaction with customers and understanding the Functional safety requirements of customers.

·         Estimation of efforts for work products.

·         Preparation of the execution plan.

·         Identification of risks.

·         Contributing to Functional safety work products and reviewing them before sending them to customers.

·         Taking complete responsibility for deliverables to customers.

·         Managing the team.

·         Achieving first-time rights and seeking maximum clarity from customers as well as a team.

·         Interaction with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information

·         Time management to complete work on time.

·         Meeting customers’ expectations and assertively negotiating required time or effort.

·         Creation of functional safety libraries for various products.

Required Experience/Skills:

·         Strong work experience (5 – 10 years) in system engineering, electrical hardware engineering, or software engineering in the Automotive industry.

·         Hands-on FuSa delivery 5+ for safety critical systems minimum ASIL-B, preferably ASIL-C/D.

·         Experience with automotive electrical or electronics products and their controls.

·         Strong Understanding of ISO26262.

·         Experience in Functional safety concepts, and technical safety concepts.

·         Experience in Hardware / Software safety requirements derivation.

·         Knowledge of ASIL decomposition.

·         Experience on work products of ISO26262, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5 / Part 6, Part 7, Part 8.

·         Knowledge of Part 9, Part 10.

·         Vehicle-level experience is desirable.

·         Experience with safety analysis techniques (FMEA, FTA, DFA, FMEDA).

·         Reliability engineering knowledge is a plus.

·         Experience in developing technical processes, procedures, guidelines, and templates a plus.

·         Good communication skills: the ability to explain concepts to other engineers.

·         Training skills for technical processes.

·         Established work practice along with distributed design teams.

·         Substantial supplier/OEM management experience.

·         Worked in the Automotive domain with system/Software/hardware experience.

·         Should have worked with safety-related systems based on standards like ISO26262/IEC61508 etc.
